Due to increased traffic levels in the area, the Northlake Town Council, in partnership with TXDOT and the Belmont Freshwater Supply District (FWSD) #1, determined that improvements to the intersection of Cleveland Gibbs Road and FM 407 were needed to protect the safety of Northlake residents and visitors. The planned improvements include expansion of the intersection, the addition of turn lanes and a traffic signal at the intersection.
Project Timeline
- August 17 - 21, 2020: Existing pavement will be cut in preparation for improvements; various lanes will be closed
- August 24 - 28, 2020: Flex base will be put down for temporary traffic detours; expect traffic delays in the area
- August 31 - September 31, 2020: Crews will begin applying asphalt to the roadway; various lanes will be closed
- September 8 - 11, 2020: The roadway will be striped and traffic signage will be posted; various lanes will be closed
