A Message from Chief of Police, Robert Crawford

Dear Northlake residents,

As the Chief of Police for the Town of Northlake, I wanted to address the treatment of Mr. George Floyd that resulted in his death. Mr. Floyd was not treated with the dignity and respect due to any human being when contacted by the police. The Northlake Police Department prides itself on our core values of Respect, Integrity, Service and Excellence.  We do not condone the behavior of the officers involved or any rogue officer in our profession.

Our agency strives to treat everyone with dignity and fairness. The Town of Northlake, the areas we serve and those that pass through our community are important to us.  It is our commitment to have professional and positive interaction during any and all contacts, be it a community contact or an arrest.

The first paragraph in our code of ethics as police officers state; “my fundamental duty is to serve the community; to safeguard lives and property; to protect the innocent against deception, the weak against oppression or intimidation and the peaceful against abuse or disorder; and to respect the constitutional rights of all to liberty, equality and justice.

Our badge is a symbol of public trust and the Northlake Police Department will continue to serve our community with the Respect, Integrity, Service and Excellence that the community expects and deserves.

Sincerely,

Robert Crawford

Chief of Police
